VMOS Cloud proxy setup
Point a VMOS Cloud phone at a VoidMob carrier exit through Modify Proxy, Add New Proxy: a sticky pay-per-GB proxy list or a dedicated 4G/5G device per phone, with language and time zone set to the exit's country.
Proxy lists from $3.99 per GB, dedicated devices from $49 a month.
SOCKS5 works too, on the device's own SOCKS5 port
Issued per device on its proxy page
Network Detection tests the connection. VMOS Cloud's API check also returns the exit IP and a country and city for it.
Add a VoidMob proxy to VMOS Cloud
In VMOS Cloud: My Cloud Phones, Modify Proxy, then Add New Proxy.
Get the credentials
Create a proxy list for each cloud phone under Proxy Lists on the order page and set it to Sticky. A dedicated 4G/5G device keeps its host, port, login and rotation link on its own proxy page instead.
Open Modify Proxy
In My Cloud Phones, choose Modify Proxy for the phone and pick Add New Proxy. You can also attach the proxy while buying the phone, which then takes about a minute to initialize before it is ready.
Fill in the proxy details
Set Proxy type to HTTP, choose the Proxy method and give it a Proxy name. Enter proxy.voidmob.com as Server address, 10000 as Port, then the list's Account and Password. SOCKS5 uses the port from your credentials.
Run Network Detection
Click Network Detection to test the connection. Proxies you set up on the Proxy IP page can be attached to another phone later with Select Existing Proxy, without typing the login again.
Match language and time zone
Open Language and Time Zone and set both to the exit's country. A new phone starts on a random time zone, so switch off the random time zone inside the phone's own settings afterwards.
Settings that follow the IP
Leave these on the values below and VMOS Cloud describes the same place the exit IP does.
- SIM card
- Set from the proxy
- VMOS Cloud says a phone created with a proxy takes settings such as its SIM card and time zone from it. Without one, it runs on an IP from the VMOS Cloud data center of its server region.
- Time zone
- Exit's zone, random off
- Each phone starts on a random time zone. Set it under Language and Time Zone, then turn off the random setting inside the phone so it stays put.
- Language
- Exit country's language
- Set it under Language and Time Zone or in Android's own Languages list. In the API, Smart IP's followLanguage switch ties it to the proxy IP.
- GPS
- Smart IP (API)
- VMOS Cloud's Smart IP call moves the exit IP, SIM details, GPS and time zone to the proxy's country, restarting the phone to apply them.
Proxy list or dedicated device
Both work in VMOS Cloud. The difference is who else shares the exit and how it rotates.
| Compare | Proxy list | Dedicated device |
|---|---|---|
| Price | From $3.99 per GB | From $49 a month |
| What you get | A proxy list per profile, all on one GB balance | One 4G/5G device no other customer exits through |
| Rotation | The list setting: per request, sticky or a timer | On demand: rotation link, API or a timer you set |
| Change-IP field | Not used | Rotate from the dashboard or API |
| Traffic | Billed per GB | Unmetered |
| Fits | Many profiles, light or read-only work | Profiles that carry the business |
When VMOS Cloud and the proxy disagree
The phone's clock keeps drifting to another time zone
VMOS Cloud gives each phone a random time zone by default, and setting one from outside leaves that random setting on inside the phone
After using Language and Time Zone, open the phone's own settings, turn off the random time zone, and compare the clock with the exit's country.
Run the checkMoving a phone to another country wiped its apps and logins
Change Region swaps the phone's server region, and VMOS Cloud clears device data whenever the region changes
Keep the region and change the proxy instead. VMOS Cloud notes that a US phone given a UK proxy shows a UK IP, so attach a list or device in the new country.
Smart IP puts the phone in the wrong country
VMOS Cloud's API docs say Smart IP must run its detection call first, and that setting it directly may cause a country mismatch
Call checkIP with the host, port, login and type, confirm proxyWorking and the proxyLocation it returns, then call smartIp. The phone restarts and applies within about a minute.
Network Detection fails on a proxy list that works elsewhere
The protocol and port disagree, for example SOCKS5 pointed at port 10000
Use HTTP with port 10000, or SOCKS5 with the SOCKS5 port issued with your credentials, then run Network Detection again.
Run the check
Run VMOS Cloud on real mobile IPs
Pools from $3.99/GB, or a dedicated device for 1 to 30 days.
