iphey (iphey.com) is a browser fingerprint checker that describes itself this way: "Run a real-time browser fingerprinting test to detect tracking risks and hidden leaks." It ends with an "MX SCORE" labelled "How trustworthy is your identity." The iphey pages we read (as of October 2026) do not explain how that score is calculated, so treat it as one checker's opinion, not a verdict.
What does the iphey results panel show?
The iphey results panel shows five categories (Browser, Location, IP Address, Hardware and Software) plus the overall MX SCORE. A Restart Test button runs the check again in the same browser.
According to iphey.com, the fingerprinting is "powered by" MixVisit, and the comparison data comes from its own collection: "We take all browser settings from our databases of browser fingerprints, collected from real people from all over the world." The site also says, "We check your browser fingerprint for leaks that could expose your real identity."
Your result is therefore a comparison between your browser and iphey's reference data. Read a flagged category as a pointer to where to look, not as a measured fault.
Why is my iphey score low?
iphey gives three possible causes on its own page: "If our test shows a low Trust Score, it may be due to the use of low-quality proxies, a mismatch between your time zone and your IP, or clear signs of automation (bots)." Note the "may." These are candidates, not a diagnosis.
Two more statements from iphey help when reading the result:
- The IP is one signal among many. "Even if you change your IP, websites can recognize you by the specific set of characteristics of your browser." A clean IP does not make the Browser, Hardware or Software categories go away.
- Blocking everything is not neutral. "It is almost impossible to completely hide a fingerprint, as empty parameter values themselves look suspicious to security systems." A browser with every API disabled can stand out more than an ordinary one.
iphey also states that "Using anti-detect browsers or specialized extensions allows you to swap real data for "average" values, making your profile less unique and harder to track." That is iphey's claim about those tools, reported here as what the page says.
Map each of iphey's three causes to something you can check:
| Cause iphey lists | What to check | Where to check it |
|---|---|---|
| Low-quality proxies | IP type (datacenter, VPN, mobile) and blacklist entries for the exit IP | IP Type Checker, IP Blacklist Checker, Proxy Checker |
| Time zone and IP mismatch | System or profile time zone against the exit IP's location; WebRTC exposing a second IP | Location Consistency Test, WebRTC Leak Test |
| Signs of automation (bots) | Whether the browser is driven by a framework or headless mode during the test | Run the test in a normal, manually opened browser window |
How do you check whether your IP and time zone agree?
Checking time zone against IP location takes two readings: the exit IP the website sees, and the time zone your browser reports. If you use a proxy or VPN, the IP location follows the exit, while the time zone is whatever your operating system or browser profile reports. When the two point at different regions, that is the mismatch iphey names.
Start with the exit IP:
What does your IP reveal right now?
Then compare it with your settings:
- Note the country and city of the exit IP above, and whether it reads as mobile, residential or datacenter. The IP Type Checker gives the full carrier and ASN.
- Run the Location Consistency Test to compare IP location with browser time zone and language.
- Run the WebRTC Leak Test. If the test shows a second IP through WebRTC, sites can read that address besides your proxy exit.
- If you test through a proxy, confirm it works and check its reputation with the Proxy Checker and the IP Blacklist Checker.
If the exit shows as datacenter when you expected mobile, mobile proxy shows as datacenter covers the usual reasons.
What privacy tips does iphey give?
iphey lists three tips on its homepage: "1. Keep your browser updated to the latest version. 2. Use Incognito mode (though it provides only partial protection). 3. Limit the number of installed extensions and rare fonts."
The common thread is ordinariness. An outdated browser version, a long extension list or unusual fonts make a browser rarer, and iphey's own point about empty values says rarity cuts both ways. Incognito helps only partly, as iphey says itself.
Should you trust a single iphey result?
A single iphey result is one tool's comparison against one reference database, so the fair reading is: iphey thinks something in this category looks unusual.
A practical rule for reading it:
- Change one variable per run. Fix the time zone, press Restart Test, read the result. Then change the next thing. Changing three settings at once makes it hard to tell which one mattered.
- Keep the connection fixed while testing. If you test through a proxy that rotates per request, your exit IP can change between page loads, and you are no longer testing one identity.
- Cross-check with other tools. Other checkers weigh signals differently, so compare with one more, such as Pixelscan or VoidMob's own Browser Fingerprint Test.
A high iphey score does not mean any given website will accept you. Each platform runs its own checks, and proxy detected errors can appear on setups that pass a checker.
Where do profile tools and mobile proxies fit?
Profile tools fit when you run several legitimate work setups and want each to stay consistent: its own fingerprint, its own time zone, its own connection. Incogniton is one example, an anti-detect browser from a separate company (not an iphey product). Its site advertises "Unique browser fingerprints: Give every profile its own digital fingerprint and keep browsing environments separated," and says it "Works on Windows and macOS." The Incogniton proxy setup shows how to attach a proxy to a profile.
Mobile proxies fit when iphey's flags point at the IP side. VoidMob: mobile proxies on real 4G/5G devices, non-VoIP SMS verification and eSIM. Every exit is a real device on a consumer carrier connection, so its public IPv4 address sits behind carrier CGNAT and is shared with that carrier's ordinary subscribers.
To keep a profile coherent for a test, set the proxy list's country (and city, if you need it) to match the profile's time zone, and set rotation to Sticky so the list holds the same device while it stays online. Dedicated devices come with a private rotation link that pastes straight into Incogniton's "Proxy rotation API url" field, so you rotate when you choose, not mid-session.
As of October 2026, shared pay-per-GB plans start at $3.99 for 1 GB, and dedicated devices start from $49 per month. VoidMob has no free trial; the 1 GB plan or a 1-day dedicated device is the cheapest way to test.
What do iphey's labels and score ranges mean?
Treat the labels as iphey's own comparison, not a universal standard. Use a flagged category as a hint about where to look, and check that area with a dedicated tool.
How is the iphey MX SCORE calculated?
iphey says the fingerprinting is powered by MixVisit and that results are compared against fingerprints collected from real people around the world. Read the score through its five categories rather than as a single verdict.
Why is my iphey score low when I use no VPN or proxy?
iphey lists three possible causes: low-quality proxies, a time zone and IP mismatch, or signs of automation. Check that your system time zone matches your IP location, close any automation tools, and try iphey's three tips: update the browser, use Incognito (partial protection only), and limit extensions and rare fonts.
Is iphey accurate?
The iphey pages we read publish no accuracy figures and no comparison with other checkers. Treat a result as one tool's comparison against its own reference data, and confirm a flag with a second checker before changing your setup.
Does iphey keep my test data?
The iphey pages we read do not state a retention, sharing or deletion policy for test data. If that matters to you, look for a privacy policy on iphey.com before testing.
Why does my iphey score change when I press Restart Test?
Keep your side constant between runs: keep the same browser, time zone and exit IP between runs, and change one setting at a time so any difference is easier to read.
