Reddit's "You've been blocked by network security" page means Reddit has blocked the request coming from your connection. The page's full text reads: "You've been blocked by network security. If you think you've been blocked by mistake, file a ticket below and we'll look into it." The official route back is the ticket form that the page links to.
The block page itself names no duration and no cause. The terms do say Reddit may limit or end access at any time, and they prohibit automated, overburdening and scraping use.
What does Reddit's network security block page say?
The page is short. It gives the block message, says you can file a ticket if you think the block is a mistake, and shows a "File a ticket" button. That button opens a form on Reddit's help center.
We checked on 9 October 2026 by sending a script-style request, with a script user agent, to Reddit's public JSON listing for r/all. The response was this block page. No browser was involved, so the page comes from Reddit's side. A browser only displays the page Reddit sends, so look for the cause on the Reddit side rather than in browser settings.
Our single check shows that a script-style request can receive the page. It does not show every situation that can produce it, and the page names no cause.
Readers also search for "reddit whoa there pardner" and "reddit network security block". The only wording verified on this page is the network security message quoted above.
Why does Reddit block access with this page?
Reddit's User Agreement gives Reddit broad discretion over access: "To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we may suspend or terminate your Account, moderator status, or ability to access or use the Services at any time for any or no reason, including for violating these Terms or our Reddit Rules." Reddit does not need to state a reason before cutting access.
The same agreement lists prohibited uses, including:
- "Use the Services in any manner (automated, including via bots, or otherwise) that could interfere with, disable, disrupt, overburden, or otherwise impair the Services;"
- "scraping the Services without Reddit's prior written consent is prohibited"
- "Use the Services in any manner that we reasonably believe to be an abuse of or fraud on Reddit or any payment system."
The Data API Terms add rules for programmatic access:
- "Reddit may set and enforce limits on your use of the Data APIs (e.g., limiting the number of API requests that you may make or the number of App Users you may serve), in our sole discretion."
- Users must not "circumvent or exceed limitations on calls and use of the Data APIs as outlined in the Developer Documentation, or otherwise use the Data APIs in a manner that would constitute excessive or abusive usage". If Reddit believes you are in breach, "Reddit reserves the right to permanently block your access to the Data APIs".
- "Reddit reserves the right to revoke your access to the Data APIs for any reason and for any period of time, without notice to you."
- "you will not misrepresent or mask either the user agent or OAuth identity when using the Data APIs." Users also must not "defeat, avoid, bypass, remove, deactivate or otherwise circumvent any software protection or monitoring mechanism of the Data APIs;"
How do you get unblocked by Reddit network security?
Reddit's block page names one route, the ticket form. Use it alongside the steps below:
- Stop any automated or high-volume activity. Pause every script, bot or scheduled job you run against Reddit before you file anything.
- File the ticket from the block page. Use the ticket form and describe what you were doing, when the page appeared, and which URL you were loading.
- Raise wider disputes informally. The User Agreement says "if you have an issue or dispute, you agree to raise it and try to resolve it with us informally," and links a contact route for feedback and concerns. Appeals of content moderation decisions go through Reddit's Help Center.
- Report a suspected account compromise. The User Agreement says you must "immediately notify Reddit if you discover or suspect that someone has accessed your Account without your permission." It also lists [email protected] for reporting security issues. That address is for security reports, not for reviewing blocks.
The message text we captured contains no reference code. Your ticket is easier to match if you note the time, the page you requested, and the connection you were on. The check below shows your current public IP and network type, so you can copy them into the ticket accurately.
What does your IP reveal right now?
What if you run your own scripts or apps against Reddit?
The User Agreement prohibits scraping Reddit without prior written consent. For programmatic access, Reddit publishes the Data API, and the Data API Terms set the conditions for using it.
To stay within those terms:
- Send an honest user agent and OAuth identity. The terms prohibit misrepresenting or masking either one.
- Stay within the limits in the Developer Documentation, and keep in mind that Reddit can set limits "in our sole discretion."
- Do not work around Reddit's monitoring mechanisms.
- For heavier use, get an agreement first. The Data API Terms say: "If you are interested in using the Data APIs for commercial purposes, research in excess of rate limits, or for any use that is not expressly permitted under the Data API Terms, then you will need to enter into a separate agreement with Reddit." The terms also say questions about the Data APIs "may be directed here," with a contact link on the Data API Terms page.
A tool that is blocked while it runs outside those terms has a terms problem. Fixing the connection does not solve it.
Is Reddit's block the same as other "you have been blocked" pages?
Other sites show their own block pages, and each one comes from that site's own security setup and rules. A Cloudflare-protected site shows a different page with its own Ray ID, which is covered in Sorry, You Have Been Blocked. Google shows its own message, explained in unusual traffic from your computer network. If several unrelated sites start blocking you at once, look at what those sites have in common on your side, such as a network you share with other people or software that sends automated requests.
Where do mobile proxies fit after a Reddit block?
A proxy is not the fix for Reddit's block page. The ticket form is. Reddit's Data API Terms prohibit masking the user agent or OAuth identity and circumventing its monitoring mechanisms. The User Agreement lets Reddit end access to the Services for any or no reason.
VoidMob provides mobile proxies on real 4G/5G devices, non-VoIP SMS verification and eSIM. Each proxy exit is a real device on a consumer carrier connection, so its public IPv4 address sits behind the carrier's CGNAT. These proxies fit permitted multi-region work, such as viewing prices, search results and ads the way a local user would. One example is ad verification by city and carrier, carried out within each platform's terms.
How long does the Reddit network security block last?
Neither the block page nor the User Agreement or Data API Terms give a duration. The Data API Terms say Reddit reserves the right to revoke access 'for any reason and for any period of time, without notice to you.' If you think the block is a mistake, file a ticket from the block page.
What triggers the 'blocked by network security' page on Reddit?
The page names no cause. In our check on 9 October 2026, a script-style request to Reddit received the page, which fits the terms' rules on automated use and scraping. One check does not show every situation that can produce the page.
Will a VPN or a different network get me past the block?
The block page's only instruction is the ticket form it links to, so that is the route to use. For Data API users, the Data API Terms prohibit masking the user agent or OAuth identity and circumventing Reddit's monitoring mechanisms.
Where do I appeal a Reddit network security block?
Use the 'File a ticket' button on the block page, which opens a form on Reddit's help center. For other disputes, the User Agreement asks you to raise them informally through its contact link. The message text we captured has no reference code, so include the time, the URL and the connection you were on.
