Boat skill and MCP setup
Give the agents in your Boat sandboxes a 4G/5G mobile IP in the country you pick, real US numbers for codes and a dedicated number for your app's SMS tests. Keep the key in your Boat environment and set it up once.

# your terminal$ boat env set-var base VOIDMOB_API_KEY=vmk_live_...$ boat new$ boat ssh# inside the sandbox$ npx skills add voidmobcom/voidmob-mcp --skill voidmob -g -a claude-code -a codex -a pi -yThen ask Boat
What's my VoidMob balance?A number back means the key and the install both work.
One line puts the skill in the skills folders of Claude Code, Codex and Pi, so whichever agent boat prompt hands the task to can use it. The skill calls the VoidMob API with curl and reads the key from the sandbox environment.
What VoidMob adds to Boat
Boat runs persistent Linux sandboxes for AI agents in EU datacenters, with Claude Code, Codex, Pi and other agents preinstalled. Each agent reads its own config from the sandbox home, so VoidMob goes in once per sandbox, or once into a snapshot that new sandboxes start from.
A mobile IP instead of the sandbox's own
Boat sandboxes run in datacenters in Germany, Finland and France, so every request an agent's script makes leaves from a European cloud address. A proxy list gives those requests a 4G/5G carrier IP in the country you pick, so a US storefront, ad or search page shows what a local phone user sees.
Proxies for AI agentsYour app's SMS login, tested in the sandbox
Host a branch of your app on a Boat public URL and let the agent sign up a test account with a dedicated monthly number. That number receives SMS from any sender, your own app included, so the agent reads the code and checks the flow on every run.
Dedicated numbersCodes for the services you sign up to
When a task needs an account on a listed third-party service, the agent rents a US non-VoIP number for it, waits for the SMS and passes the code on. No SMS within the window and the price goes back to your balance.
SMS verificationSet up VoidMob in Boat
One step is yours whichever path you take: create an API key in the dashboard and top up the balance with crypto.
Create a key and fund the balance
Create a key under Developers, API Keys in the VoidMob dashboard (it is shown once) and top up with crypto. Agents can spend the balance and nothing beyond it.
Save the key in your Boat environment
Run
boat env set-var base VOIDMOB_API_KEY=...or add it on the Environment tab of the Boat dashboard. Sandboxes started after that get it as an environment variable.Start a sandbox and install
Run
boat new, open a shell withboat sshand paste the skill or MCP line. Try the sandbox line of the MCP server first to watch the tools work on play money.Ask for your balance
Back in your terminal, run
boat prompt "What is my VoidMob balance?". A number in the reply means the key reached the agent.Save it as a snapshot
Run
boat snapshot <id> voidmobonce. Everyboat new --from voidmobafter that starts with VoidMob installed and takes the key from your default environment.
A first task to try
Paste this to Boat. The panel plays what the setup above makes happen.
This sandbox is in Europe. Quote me the smallest shared mobile proxy plan and stop. After my yes, buy it, make a US proxy list and fetch our pricing page through it to show me the US prices. The smallest shared plan is 1 GB for 30 days at $3.99. Country, city and carrier are set per proxy list after you buy. Go ahead?
Ready. Requests through that login leave from mobile carriers in United States.
Boat keeps the conversation between prompts, so the yes can come minutes later from another terminal. A shared plan is billed per GB, and fetching a few pages uses very little of it.
Checks before every charge
Two checks always run at VoidMob: the price you approved and your balance. Two more run inside your MCP server when you set them. A refusal at any of them charges nothing.
No SMS, no charge
A verification number stays open 15 minutes. If no SMS arrives, the price returns to the balance automatically, except on services marked non-refundable.
Keys you can pull
Give Boat its own key and revoke it on the API Keys page whenever you like. It stops working at once.

When Boat and VoidMob disagree
The agent reports that
VOIDMOB_API_KEYis not setThe sandbox started before you saved the variable, and a sandbox keeps the environment version it started with.
Fix
Run
boat env upgrade baseto move running sandboxes to the latest version, or start a new sandbox, then prompt again.Codex or Pi turns cannot see the VoidMob tools
claude mcp addregisters the server for Claude Code only. Each agent on the sandbox reads its own MCP list.Fix
Install the skill, which the
npx skillsline puts in every agent's skills folder at once, or add the server to that agent with its own command, codex mcp addfor Codex.Model calls slow down or fail once a proxy is set
HTTPS_PROXYin the Boat environment sends every process through the proxy, the agents' own model traffic included.Fix
Keep proxy variables out of the environment. Give the list login only to the script that needs it, such as
curl -x, a requests session or Playwright's launch options.Chrome on the sandbox desktop still shows the sandbox address
Chrome takes a proxy only as a launch flag, and that flag has no place for the list's username and password.
Fix
Drive the browser with Playwright instead and pass the list's server, username and password in its proxy launch option.
Give Boat a balance to draw on
Create an API key, top it up with crypto, and paste it where the setup above says. Prefer to look first? The MCP server runs on play money with no key.
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about VoidMob in Boat.
npx skills line installs the skill for Claude Code, Codex and Pi at once. The MCP server is added per agent: the setup above shows Claude Code's command, and the MCP page has the lines for Codex and other clients.boat prompt turn runs with nobody at the keyboard, so the quote comes first: VoidMob's skill and MCP server tell the agent to show the price and wait for a yes, and each buy carries that price so a higher one is refused. For hard caps, add -e VOIDMOB_MAX_ORDER_CENTS=2500 -e VOIDMOB_BUDGET_CENTS=5000 to claude mcp add, or VOIDMOB_READ_ONLY=1 for search and status only.--no-env get none of your variables, which is the right setting for sandboxes your own users drive.Based on Boat's own docs: Integrated agents · Environments · CLI reference · Snapshots and copies · FAQ: regions · Claude Code MCP · Agent Skills CLI.
