Pi coding agent skill and MCP setup
Give the Pi coding agent real non-VoIP numbers to test SMS flows and mobile IPs by country to run your code from. Add the VoidMob MCP server with one pi mcp add line, or install the Agent Skill.

$ pi mcp add voidmob --env VOIDMOB_API_KEY='${VOIDMOB_API_KEY}' -- npx -y @voidmob/mcp$ pi mcp listThen ask Pi coding agent
What's my VoidMob balance?A number back means the key and the install both work.
The single quotes keep ${VOIDMOB_API_KEY} as a reference, so Pi reads the key from your shell each time it starts the server. The server lands in ~/.pi/agent/mcp.json; run /reload in an open session.
What VoidMob adds to Pi coding agent
Pi is a minimal open-source coding agent for the terminal. It has MCP built in, reads Agent Skills from ~/.agents/skills and ~/.pi/agent/skills, and works through bash and curl rather than a browser of its own.
Test your own app's SMS login
A dedicated monthly number receives SMS from any sender, including your own app. Pi can sign up a test account on staging, read the code your app sent and assert on it, run after run, with the same number.
Dedicated numbersOne-time codes for listed services
When the code you are writing signs in to a third-party service, Pi can rent a US non-VoIP number for that service, wait for the SMS and hand the code to your test. No SMS in the window and the price returns to the balance.
SMS verificationRun your code from another country
Check how your scraper, checkout or geo logic behaves from Germany or Brazil on a mobile network. Pi creates a proxy list for the country and wires its login into the request library or curl -x.
Proxies for AI agentsSet up VoidMob in Pi coding agent
One step is yours whichever path you take: create an API key in the dashboard and top up the balance with crypto.
Create a key and fund the balance
Create a key under Developers, API Keys (it is shown once) and top up with crypto. A small balance is plenty for test runs.
Export the key
Add
export VOIDMOB_API_KEY=vmk_live_...to your shell profile, or read it from a password manager with Pi's!commandform.Add the server or the skill
Run the
pi mcp addline for MCP, or thenpx skillsline for the skill. Try the sandbox line first to watch the tools work before funding anything.Check it
pi mcp listshows the server and its connection. Then ask Pi for your VoidMob balance: a number back means the key reached the server.Keep purchases deliberate
Pi does not ask before a tool call. Add
--env VOIDMOB_MAX_ORDER_CENTS=2500 --env VOIDMOB_BUDGET_CENTS=5000topi mcp addto cap each order and the session.
A first task to try
Paste this to Pi coding agent. The panel plays what the setup above makes happen.
Buy the smallest shared mobile proxy plan after showing me the price, make a proxy list for Germany, and run curl through it to tell me the exit IP and carrier. The smallest shared plan is 1 GB for 30 days at $3.99. Country, city and carrier are set per proxy list after you buy. Go ahead?
Ready. Requests through that login leave from mobile carriers in Germany.
A shared plan is billed per GB, so a few test requests use very little of it. The same list login drops into Python, Node or any client that takes an HTTP or SOCKS5 proxy.
Checks before every charge
Two checks always run at VoidMob: the price you approved and your balance. Two more run inside your MCP server when you set them. A refusal at any of them charges nothing.
No SMS, no charge
A verification number stays open 15 minutes. If no SMS arrives, the price returns to the balance automatically, except on services marked non-refundable.
Keys you can pull
Give Pi coding agent its own key and revoke it on the API Keys page whenever you like. It stops working at once.

When Pi coding agent and VoidMob disagree
pi mcp listshows the server failing to connectNode is older than version 22, or the shell that started Pi never exported the API key.
Fix
Check
node -vand echo the variable in the same shell, fix whichever is missing, update Pi to a release with MCP support, then/reloador restart it.Your test never receives the code your app sent
A one-time verification number only takes SMS for the listed service it was rented for.
Fix
For your own app, use a dedicated monthly number, which receives SMS from any sender, and point the test account at it.
curl through the proxy returns 407
A brand new proxy list can take a few minutes to become usable, or the list login was copied wrong.
Fix
Wait a minute and retry, then copy the connection string again from the
create_proxy_listresult or the dashboard's Proxy Lists rather than retyping it.
Give Pi coding agent a balance to draw on
Create an API key, top it up with crypto, and paste it where the setup above says. Prefer to look first? The MCP server runs on play money with no key.
