Verifying Bumble with a real carrier number

Bumble asks for a phone number at signup and sends a numeric code by SMS, with a voice call fallback. The check fires again on a new device or account restore, so the number is the credential Bumble uses to recognise the account later. Codes land on non-VoIP carrier lines.

Decide how long you need the number. A one-time code (from $0.15, active 15 minutes, refunded if none arrives) is enough for a signup you only access from one device. If the account matters, keep the line: a multi-day rental, or a dedicated monthly line from $19.99 in the United States.

Bumble also reads the signup IP, the device, and whether their implied locations agree. A US number arriving from a datacenter IP in another region is the mismatch most likely to cause a re-verification loop.
