Keep the same Viber number every month

Viber ties each account to one number and can ask for a new code after a device change. A number that stays yours keeps the account reachable.

  • Assigned only to you, never shared or recycled
  • Unlimited verifications across most platforms
  • Same number for re-logins, new devices and recovery
  • One flat monthly price, no long-term contract

Requirements

What Viber requires from a number

Non-VoIP required
Yes. VoIP ranges are rejected or limited.
Number reuse
One account per number. Use a fresh number for each account.

Viber states that internet-based (VoIP) numbers cannot be used to activate or register. Viber chooses whether the code comes by Flash Call or SMS, and VoidMob numbers receive SMS only. Viber checks each number against existing accounts and limits activation attempts, with a 24-hour wait once the limit is reached.

Pair it

The number is half the signal

Viber checks the connection alongside the number. A mobile proxy keeps every signup and login on a real carrier IP, so the account you verify here looks consistent from day one.

AI agents

An agent can handle Viber verification

Once you create an API key and fund the balance, an AI agent can rent the Viber number when you say yes, poll for the message and read the parsed code through VoidMob's open-source MCP server. Works with Claude Code, Codex and other local MCP clients.

Why it works

Verifying Viber with a real carrier number

Viber rejects VoIP numbers at activation. Its [support page](https://help.viber.com/hc/en-us/articles/8843920458653-Solve-activation-and-registration-issues) states "Internet-based phone numbers cannot be used to activate / register on Viber". Every VoidMob number is a non-VoIP carrier number, and the [privacy policy](https://www.viber.com/en/terms/viber-privacy-policy/) says Viber uses your number "to authenticate and verify your account".

Viber picks the delivery method, and VoidMob numbers take only SMS. Viber says the code is "mostly delivered through an automated phone call (Flash Call), or an SMS", and a call will not reach a VoidMob number. If no SMS arrives inside the 15-minute one-time window, you get an automatic refund.

Viber stays tied to your number. Its policy keeps your mobile number "for as long as you maintain your Viber account". A one-time US code covers a first activation; a rental or a dedicated monthly line keeps the number reachable when you move to a new phone.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Viber verification numbers.

Can I use a virtual number for Viber?
You cannot use a VoIP number. Viber's [support page](https://help.viber.com/hc/en-us/articles/8843920458653-Solve-activation-and-registration-issues) lists a "VoIP number: you entered a VoIP number" error and states "Internet-based phone numbers cannot be used to activate / register on Viber". Apps that issue internet numbers fail that check. Every VoidMob number is a non-VoIP carrier number. For background, see [why VoIP numbers fail SMS verification](/blog/why-voip-numbers-fail-sms-verification). If your goal is to keep your personal SIM private, see [how platforms use your number](/blog/protect-personal-number-spam-data-farming).
Why did my Viber code not arrive on a VoidMob number?
Viber chooses how the code is delivered. It says the code is "mostly delivered through an automated phone call (Flash Call), or an SMS". VoidMob numbers receive SMS, not calls, so a Flash Call or "Activate via call" will not reach them. Viber also suggests switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data on the device running Viber. If no SMS arrives within 15 minutes, the one-time number is refunded automatically. Keep polling instead of cancelling, because frequent cancellations pause SMS purchases for 24 hours. More causes are covered in [not receiving verification codes](/learn/not-receiving-verification-codes).
How long do I wait after too many Viber activation attempts?
Viber says "there is a limit to the number of times that you can attempt to activate / register an account" and "To try activating / registering again, please wait 24 hours." Wait the full 24 hours. Then make one clean attempt with the number entered in Viber's stated format.
What does the Viber "Activation failed" error mean?
Viber says "If you see an Activation failed error, it means Viber has temporarily restricted your phone number. This usually happens when our system detects activity that looks like spam." This can affect recycled numbers that were flagged before. If you are a first-time user, or you believe the restriction is a mistake, contact Viber through its [Support portal](https://vb.me/ContactUs).
What number format does Viber expect?
Viber asks for "(Country code)(Area code, without leading 0s)(Phone number)". It detects the country code from your current location, and you can change it. For a US VoidMob number, select +1 and then type the rest of the number. Viber shows "Number doesn't exist: You entered an invalid phone number" when the entry is not a valid number.
Which VoidMob number should I buy for Viber?
A [one-time code](/sms) gives you a US non-VoIP number for 15 minutes and is refunded automatically if no SMS arrives. The exception is a service marked non-refundable, which ends with no refund. A 3, 7, 14 or 30 day US rental receives Viber's SMS for the whole term. A [dedicated monthly line](/sms/locations) is reserved for you month to month and accepts SMS from any service. Viber keeps the number for the life of the account and says an account "may also be deactivated if you do not log into Viber for twelve consecutive months". Choose a term you will actually keep.
Are the Viber numbers non-VoIP, and do I need ID?
Yes, every number is a real carrier line rather than VoIP, and no ID is needed: you sign up with a crypto wallet or an email and pay from a crypto-funded balance.
What if the Viber code never arrives?
A one-time US number stays active for 15 minutes, and if no code arrives in that window the order cancels itself and refunds in full to your balance.
