What Signal requires from a number
- Non-VoIP required
- No, but carrier numbers verify more reliably.
- Number reuse
- One account per number. Use a fresh number for each account.
Every VoidMob number is a non-VoIP carrier number. Signal's support pages do not publish a list of accepted number types. A Signal account is tied to one phone number, so keep the number for as long as you keep the account.
The number is half the signal
Signal checks the connection alongside the number. A mobile proxy keeps every signup and login on a real carrier IP, so the account you verify here looks consistent from day one.

An agent can handle Signal verification
An AI agent can rent the Signal number, poll for the incoming message and read the parsed code through VoidMob's open-source MCP server, with no dashboard round trip. Works with Claude, Codex and any MCP client.
Verifying Signal with a real carrier number
Signal ties the account to the number you register with, and re-registering after a reinstall or on a new phone sends a new code to that same number. Treat it as a number you keep. For an account you plan to keep, use a multi-day rental or the dedicated monthly line.
A one-time OTP number is yours only for 15 minutes, and after that someone else can later try to register Signal with it. Registration Lock blocks that only while you keep using the account: Signal lets the lock expire after 7 days of inactivity.
Registration Lock requires your Signal PIN whenever your number is registered again, and a forgotten PIN can lock you out for a period, so store it with the number. Usernames let people message you without seeing your number, but you still register with a phone number.
