What to expect in Tajikistan
Two local networks carry this eSIM: MegaFon Tajikistan and ZET-Mobile. Tcell, another national operator, is not among them. The plans run on 4G/LTE, which is where the country stands: the US Commerce Department lists 5G pilot zones in Dushanbe and Khujand in 2025, with commercial service planned for 2027.
Most arrivals land at Dushanbe International, home of Somon Air, which handled about 2.16 million passengers in 2025; Khujand's airport serves the north. Only 56.8% of Tajiks were online at the end of 2025, and most of the country is high mountain.
East of Khorog, the Pamir Highway climbs to 4,655 m at the Ak-Baital Pass. Traffic exits through the United Kingdom.
