What to expect in Indonesia
Since XL and Smartfren merged in April 2025, Indonesia has three mobile groups: Telkomsel, the largest with 153.7 million subscribers, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison and XLSMART. This eSIM can use all four networks, and our Indonesia plans are sold as 5G where operators have switched it on.
That choice helps when hopping between Bali, Lombok and the Gili islands: if one network's signal fades, another may still reach. Speeds are modest, with Ookla's median mobile download at 45 Mbps in August 2025.
