What to expect in Nepal
Nepal has two main networks: state-run Nepal Telecom, the larger by subscribers, and Ncell, owned since December 2023 by Spectrlite UK. This eSIM connects to Ncell, whose 4G reaches about 90 percent of the population. Nepal Telecom is still trialling 5G; this plan runs on Ncell's LTE.
Most visitors land at Tribhuvan in Kathmandu, though Pokhara's airport, open since January 2023, gained a daily flydubai service in September 2026. Everest trekkers fly on to Lukla, and Ncell built a base station near Everest Base Camp at 5,200 metres back in 2010.
Data leaves through Singapore, so sites see a Singaporean address.
