What to expect in Vietnam
Vietnam's 5G era is young. Viettel switched on the first commercial network in October 2024, and VinaPhone, the mobile arm of state-owned VNPT and the network this eSIM uses, followed on December 20, 2024. Our Vietnam plans are sold as 5G and fall back to VinaPhone's 4G beyond the rollout.
The Vietnam plans exit inside the country, so banks, shops and government portals see a Vietnamese address. The Asia Pacific bundle trades that for Singapore, Hong Kong, Macao or UK exits.
