What Depop looks at
The signals that decide whether a session reads as a phone or as automation.
- 01
Login from an unfamiliar device, browser or place
Depop's Help Centre says: ["Whenever there's a login from an unfamiliar device, browser or place, we send you an email to check it's you. It doesn't always mean there's a problem"](https://depophelp.zendesk.com/hc/en-gb/articles/13723976641169-I-received-an-email-about-a-recent-login-to-Depop). If your connection's location changes between sign-ins, you may get that email.
- 02
Estimated login location
Depop states that ["Login locations are estimates"](https://depophelp.zendesk.com/hc/en-gb/articles/13723976641169-I-received-an-email-about-a-recent-login-to-Depop). It gives three reasons you might see a place you don't recognize: "You're using a VPN or proxy", "You're on mobile data, which can route through different cities" and "Your internet provider's IP is registered elsewhere". One steady exit in your own country gives Depop the same IP to estimate from at each sign-in.
- 03
IP type and carrier ASN
Any marketplace session exposes the IP type (mobile, residential, datacenter, VPN) and the network that owns the address. A selling browser on a cloud machine shows a hosting network unless its traffic goes out through a carrier connection. A VoidMob exit is a real 4G/5G device on a consumer carrier connection.
- 04
Exit changing mid-session
A signed-in session that starts on one IP and continues on another is a general network signal on any site. Per-request rotation, a rotation timer or switching Wi-Fi mid-listing all move the exit. For the shop, hold one sticky exit from sign-in to sign-out.
- 05
Browser timezone and language against the exit
A browser's timezone, language and locale are visible to any page and can be compared with the country the IP sits in. A UTC clock on a cloud machine, or a language that doesn't fit the exit country, reads as a mismatch. Set both to match the country you sell from.
- 06
Shared browser profiles and request pace
Two signals general to web sessions: one browser profile reused on several connections, and pages loaded faster than a person reads them. Give the shop its own browser profile on its own connection. Keep sold-price research on a separate list, at a browsing pace.
- 07
Depop's account and software rules
Depop's [Terms of Service](https://depophelp.zendesk.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360001773148-Terms-of-Service) list things users must not do, including: "Create more than one Account, unless we agree otherwise". They also bar users to "scrape or crawl the Service, including any internal software capabilities used to offer our Service (e.g. an application programming interface), or use any bots or other third party software on the Service", and to "Test, circumvent, monitor or breach the security measures of our Service". Users "must provide us with accurate and complete information so that the Service can operate properly". Cross-listing is covered separately: "You may simultaneously list your items for sale on other platforms and/or marketplaces (each an Alternative Platform) via third party cross-listing platforms, as long as you:", followed by the conditions on that page.
What a real device clears
A VoidMob session exits through a phone on a consumer carrier, in the country you choose, on an IP you hold for the whole session. The network-side checks above read as a normal handset; the behaviour-side ones stay yours to manage.
Recommended configuration for Depop
The four settings that decide whether a session reads as one phone or as traffic. Set them once in the dashboard.
- Account management
- Covers your one Depop shop: signing in, listing and editing items, replying to buyers and shipping, from café or office Wi-Fi, while travelling, or from a cloud browser. A dedicated 4G/5G device in the country you sell from gives that shop one stable carrier IP. Depop's login emails key on an unfamiliar device, browser or place, so a steady exit keeps the IP behind that estimate the same.
- Plan
- Dedicated device. One phone and one carrier IP that is yours for the term. No other customer ever exits through it, so the account history on that IP is only yours.See dedicated devices →
- Sticky session
- On, one carrier IP in your selling country for every sign-in, listing edit and message reply
- Rotation
- Keep rotation off: hold the exit for the whole session and rotate only between sessions if ever
- Accounts per IP
- One Depop account per IP: your own shop
AI agents
An agent can run this Depop setup
Once you create an API key and fund the balance, an AI agent can price the Depop setup above, buy it when you say yes, pull the connection details, rotate the IP and watch usage through VoidMob's open-source MCP server. Works with Claude Code, Codex and other local MCP clients.
Common Depop problems and their network cause
A check-it's-you login email every time you sign in
The exit keeps moving: a per-request or timed rotation list, a VPN that picks a new server, or mobile data that, as Depop notes, "can route through different cities". Fix: move the shop to a dedicated device or a Sticky list in your selling country, rotation off, and check the IP and carrier before signing in.
Check it: IP Checker
Signed out or asked to log in again mid-listing
The IP rotated during the session: a rotation timer fired, the list password was regenerated, or the dedicated device's rotation link was triggered. Fix: rotation off for the shop, and rotate a dedicated device only after you sign out. On a cloud machine, keep every browser for the shop in one gateway region, because a sticky list gives each region its own exit.

Pages show another country's currency, language or shipping
The exit country, the browser language and the system timezone don't agree, often a cloud machine left on UTC or a list set to the wrong country. Fix: set the list or device country to where you sell, then match the browser timezone and language to it.
Check it: Location Test
The login email still names your home city
Some sign-ins are reaching Depop without the proxy: the Depop app on your phone, another browser, or a profile that is not routed through the list. Fix: sign in to the shop only from the proxied browser profile, check that WebRTC does not expose your home IP, and test before signing in. See [BrowserLeaks proxy test](/learn/browserleaks-proxy) for the lines that matter.

The connection reads as a datacenter IP
Traffic from the cloud machine is going out directly instead of through the mobile exit, or another proxy sits in front of it. Fix: confirm the browser profile uses the VoidMob credentials and that the checker shows a mobile carrier. See [mobile proxy shows as datacenter](/learn/mobile-proxy-shows-as-datacenter).
Check it: IP Checker
Photo uploads and listing pages load slowly
The client, the device and Depop are far apart. Fix: run the selling browser, or the VPS it lives on, in the same region as the device. Premium dedicated devices are the faster tier.

Why mobile IPs work on Depop
A Depop proxy is a mobile IP that keeps your one shop on one connection. VoidMob: mobile proxies on real 4G/5G devices, non-VoIP SMS verification and eSIM. Hold a sticky carrier exit in the country you sell from, so listing from café Wi-Fi, travel or a cloud browser signs in from the same place.
Every VoidMob exit is a consumer carrier connection behind CGNAT. Its public IPv4 address is shared with that carrier's ordinary subscribers. A dedicated device is yours alone, with unmetered traffic and on-demand rotation. A sticky pay-per-GB list, from $3.99/GB as of October 2026, holds one device while it stays online.
Sold-price research runs on its own list. Browse public sold listings signed out, from a pay-per-GB list that rotates every few minutes, at the pace of a person reading pages. Each list has its own login, so research traffic never touches the shop's sticky session.
Run Depop on real mobile IPs
Pools from $3.99/GB, or a dedicated device for 1 to 30 days.
