    YouTube inherits Google's network scoring. Requests from hosting and datacenter ASNs draw consent walls, captchas and 'unusual traffic' interstitials far earlier than requests from carrier ASNs behind mobile NAT.

    Google keeps a login history per account. A channel that has always signed in from one country and suddenly appears on a new network gets a 2-step prompt or a blocked sign-in until the device is re-verified.

Why it works

Why mobile IPs work on YouTube

YouTube does not run its own network reputation system: it inherits Google's. That means the exit IP you use for a channel is scored by the same machinery that decides whether a Google sign-in needs a second factor, whether search shows a captcha, and which country's catalog and ads you are served. A mobile exit sits behind carrier NAT with real subscribers on the same address, which is why it reads as a consumer connection instead of infrastructure, and why one flagged session rarely poisons the whole range.

The two workloads people mean by "YouTube proxy" need opposite settings. Channel work is stateful: uploads, Studio analytics, comment moderation and community posts all live inside one long authenticated session, so it wants a dedicated device with rotation off and a sticky exit per channel owner, ideally in the country the account has always signed in from. Public data collection is stateless: metadata, regional availability checks for your own catalog and ad verification across markets, which is cheaper on a pay-per-GB pool from $2.50/GB with rotation every few minutes and no login at all. A proxy fixes network signals and nothing else.
