SMS Numbers
Rent non-VoIP phone numbers for one-time SMS codes, multi-day rentals, or a dedicated monthly number that works with every service.
Rent non-VoIP carrier numbers for receiving SMS. There are three rental types. Verification numbers and long-term rentals are US numbers; dedicated numbers are available in several countries.
Rental Types
| Type | Duration | Use Case |
|---|---|---|
| Verification | 15 minutes | One-time codes from the service you pick |
| Long-Term | 3, 7, 14 or 30 days | Ongoing SMS from one service on the same number |
| Dedicated | Monthly | One number that receives SMS from every service |
Numbers are assigned automatically. You can't choose an area code, state or carrier. If you need a specific country, use a dedicated number.
Pricing
Every price is shown in USD before you confirm. Verification and long-term prices depend on the service, and long-term rentals cost less per day on longer terms. Dedicated numbers have a flat monthly price per country. See current prices on the SMS page and the dedicated number locations.
A few services are non-refundable. The dashboard warns you before you rent one: the number is charged whether or not a code arrives.
Message Delivery
Messages show up in the dashboard as soon as they arrive. If you're not watching, they wait on the number's page.
Limits
- Concurrent verifications: up to 5 verification numbers can wait for a code at the same time. A slot opens as soon as a code arrives or the rental ends. Long-term and dedicated numbers don't count toward this limit. Higher limits are available on request.
- Cancellations: cancelling many numbers in a row without receiving a code can temporarily restrict your account.
Privacy & Deletion
When you delete a rental from your history:
- All message content is deleted immediately
- The phone number is redacted (only the last 4 digits stay visible)
Finished verifications and expired long-term rentals are also cleaned up automatically 30 days after they end: their messages are deleted and the number is redacted. On an active long-term rental, messages older than 30 days are removed.
