Number Reuse
Reuse a verification number to get another code from the same service. Free while the rental is active, $0.50 after it ends.
Once a verification number has received a code, you can reuse it to get another code from the same service.
Free Reuse (While the Rental Is Active)
- Available after the number has received a code, until the rental ends
- Press Reuse (the circular arrow button) on the number
- Each reuse restarts the window, for up to 15 minutes
- After a free reuse, the rental can no longer be cancelled
Paid Reuse (After the Rental Ends)
- A flat $0.50, on numbers that support it: the Reuse for $0.50 button appears when it applies
- You get about 10 minutes to receive a new code
- Best effort: the number may have been taken by another service in the meantime. If the reuse fails, or no code arrives, the $0.50 is refunded automatically
- You can pay to reuse the same number again later
This helps when a service is slow to send a code, you need to re-trigger verification, or you want the same number for another attempt.
Long-Term and Dedicated Numbers
Reuse only applies to verification numbers. Long-term and dedicated numbers keep the same number for the whole term and receive every message automatically. To keep a long-term number beyond its term, turn on auto-renewal.
