Network character

What to expect in Malaysia

Malaysia has three large mobile operators: CelcomDigi, formed when Celcom and Digi merged in November 2022, Maxis, and U Mobile, with Yes smaller. CelcomDigi leads our Malaysian pool, ahead of U Mobile and then Maxis. Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, and Shah Alam lead, and Kuching and Kota Kinabalu add Borneo.

5G began on a single state-backed wholesale network, Digital Nasional Berhad, which every operator resold. The regulator approved a second network for U Mobile in November 2024. It went live in August 2025 and targets 80% of populated areas by late 2026.

Shopee is the most visited shopping site, ahead of Mudah, the classifieds site Carousell has owned since 2019, and Lazada. Phones split almost evenly, with Android on about 54% and iOS on about 46%.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about mobile proxies in Malaysia.

Do Malaysian mobile proxies run on 5G?
Yes, where the device has 5G coverage, and on 4G elsewhere. Malaysia's 5G first ran only on Digital Nasional Berhad's wholesale network, and U Mobile has run a second, independent 5G network since August 2025.
When should I pick U Mobile or Maxis over CelcomDigi?
When you want accounts on a different network from a CelcomDigi set. CelcomDigi gives the most room to rotate, since it leads our Malaysian pool, with U Mobile second and Maxis third.
Can I target Sabah, Sarawak, or a single city?
Yes. Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, and Shah Alam are the deepest cities, and Sabah and Sarawak are covered through Kota Kinabalu and Kuching. Johor Bahru and Ayer Itam in Penang have fewer devices, so check the live list before narrowing.
Which Malaysian marketplaces can I monitor?
Shopee, Mudah, and Lazada were Malaysia's three most visited shopping sites in Similarweb's August 2026 ranking. Mudah is a classifieds site for cars, property, and secondhand goods, and Carousell has owned it since 2019.
How is the mobile IP figure on this page counted?
It is the number of rotating mobile IPs our pool reaches here over a month, from our own network data and rounded down: a measure of depth rather than a fixed inventory.
How do I connect, and can I keep one IP for a whole session?
Use the standard HTTP or SOCKS5 credentials in any antidetect browser, scraper, or script, and choose per-request rotation, a timed interval, or a sticky session that holds one IP; activation is instant, with no KYC.
