Network character

What to expect in Nigeria

MTN holds just over half of Nigeria's 195 million mobile lines, ahead of Airtel, Globacom, and T2, the former 9mobile. Our Nigerian pool is led by MTN, with Airtel a strong second and Glo smaller. Lagos is the deepest city, then Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Benin City.

Older networks still carry much of the traffic. In June 2026, 2G and 3G made up about 41% of Nigerian connections, so pages and apps built for Nigeria have to work on slow links as well as 4G and 5G.

Classifieds and retail grew up in Lagos. Jiji, founded there in 2014, took over OLX's Nigerian users in 2019, and Jumia, also founded in Lagos, keeps Nigeria as a core market. Android runs about 82% of phones.

Common workflows

Jiji listing data

Collect car, phone, and property listings from Jiji at scale on rotating MTN and Airtel IPs, with the city set to Lagos, Abuja, or Port Harcourt.

Jumia price monitoring

Track prices, deals, and seller rankings on Jumia Nigeria as a Lagos shopper sees them, in naira and with local delivery options.

App QA on MTN, Airtel, and Glo

Test onboarding and content loading in your own app on Nigeria's three main networks, the connections your Nigerian users actually have.

TikTok and Instagram for Nigerian brands

Run brand and client accounts for Nigerian audiences from local carrier IPs, one sticky session per account. TikTok alone reaches about 48 million Nigerian adults.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about mobile proxies in Nigeria.

Do I need a Nigerian mobile proxy, or will any Nigeria proxy do?
Datacenter and residential Nigeria proxies exist, but Nigeria's internet runs mainly on mobile networks, with about 157 million mobile internet subscriptions in July 2026. A carrier IP on MTN, Airtel, or Glo matches what most local users connect through.
MTN or Airtel: which should I pick?
MTN leads our Nigerian pool and is the country's largest operator, so it suits volume work. Airtel is a strong second, which makes the two a natural pair for spreading requests or accounts across separate networks. Glo is available with fewer devices.
Which Nigerian cities can I target?
Lagos is the deepest, then Abuja (FCT), Port Harcourt, and Benin City, with Ibadan, Enugu, Kano, and Warri also covered. Lagos is enough for most marketplace work; use the others when results depend on the city.
Can I get a T2 (formerly 9mobile) IP?
Not as a separate option. T2, renamed from 9mobile in August 2025, holds under 2% of Nigerian lines, and our Nigerian pool runs on MTN, Airtel, and Glo.
How is the mobile IP figure on this page counted?
It is the number of rotating mobile IPs our pool reaches here over a month, from our own network data and rounded down: a measure of depth rather than a fixed inventory.
How do I connect, and can I keep one IP for a whole session?
Use the standard HTTP or SOCKS5 credentials in any antidetect browser, scraper, or script, and choose per-request rotation, a timed interval, or a sticky session that holds one IP; activation is instant, with no KYC.
