What to expect in China

Mainland China ended 2025 with about 1.2 billion 5G subscriptions, according to MIIT. Four operators serve it: China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom, and China Broadnet, which shares China Mobile's network. Our Chinese pool is almost entirely China Mobile, and its largest cities are Chengdu, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.

Google services have been unavailable on the mainland since 2014, so Baidu leads search. Discovery also happens inside apps: Weixin and WeChat have about 1.44 billion monthly users, and Douyin and Xiaohongshu act as search engines for products. A page checked from outside can look nothing like what a Shanghai user sees.

Android app work is fragmented too. Phones sold in China ship without Google Play, each manufacturer runs its own store, and HarmonyOS NEXT, launched in October 2024, cannot run Android APKs. Since 2023 every app listed in a Chinese store has also needed an ICP filing.

Common questions about mobile proxies in China.

Why do map coordinates look shifted in China?
Maps of mainland China must use the GCJ-02 coordinate system, which is offset from the WGS-84 GPS standard by design. Location QA from a Chinese IP should allow for that offset when comparing a device's GPS position with map tiles.
Which Chinese carrier should I use?
China Mobile, which carries nearly all of our Chinese pool and is the country's largest operator by a wide margin. China Unicom and China Telecom are available in smaller numbers when a check needs a particular network.
Is a China proxy the same as a Taobao shopping agent?
No. Agents such as Superbuy buy from Taobao and ship the goods to you. A mobile proxy routes your own traffic through a mainland carrier IP, and you do the browsing, testing, or price collection.
Which provinces and cities can I target?
Guangdong, Jiangsu, and Fujian are the deepest provinces, and Chengdu, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xiamen, Beijing, and Shenzhen the largest cities. Coverage reaches hundreds of cities in all; filter by province, city, or carrier above.
How is the mobile IP figure on this page counted?
It is the number of rotating mobile IPs our pool reaches here over a month, from our own network data and rounded down: a measure of depth rather than a fixed inventory.
How do I connect, and can I keep one IP for a whole session?
Use the standard HTTP or SOCKS5 credentials in any antidetect browser, scraper, or script, and choose per-request rotation, a timed interval, or a sticky session that holds one IP; activation is instant, with no KYC.
